Business Professional
Alex Perdikis, Koons of Silver Spring general manager and owner, was born in Bethesda, Maryland, and is a first generation Greek-American. Summers found Alex working jobs like lawn mowing and car washing for his neighbors. During college breaks, Alex continued to work. Working a summer job at abcar dealership is how he found his future career. He knew early that the automotive industry was something he found very intriguing and would need to be involved in.
Alex graduated from the University of Richmond E. Claiborne Robins School of Business in 1997. He began his automotive career in the accounting department at Koons Lincoln/Mercury Volvo. Quickly rising through the ranks, Alex helped break records and reached company milestones in many areas. Proving himself early in his career, after only three short months, he became the organization’s top volume salesperson. Alex Perdikis became a company executive vice president and focused on increasing the market share and profits while creating positive customer experiences. He was instrumental in the acquisition of additional dealerships. Alex is now part owner of Jim Koons Automotive Company and general manager at Koons of Silver Spring.
Fitness and Athletics
Alex has always been athletic. He enjoyed playing tennis as a young man and became a competitive player in Maryland’s junior circuit. He played tennis, basketball, track and football at Georgetown Prep where he fell in love with football and was recruited by various colleges. The University of Richmond was Alex’s chosen school. Playing on the varsity football team from 1993 to 1996, he sustained a serious spinal injury in 1996 that finished his football career. Today, Alex loves watching football and stays active with regular work outs, lifting, runs and golf.
